We have been enjoying a very much needed relaxing break in the village of Gardenstown (Gamrie if your a local or from these parts!) The village has been the subject of an ITV programme entitled 'The Baron' - last episode on this evening.
Well as the title suggests, here I am again! We've been knee deep in DIY since I lasted posted and up to our necks in mortgage payments. Needless to say we are much happier in our new pad and although it wasn't ideally what we would have wanted it's in a much nicer part of town and our daughter will be able to enroll in a much better school. Turns out that prior to buying this place, it had been rented out for a number of years and as a result, it's been quite neglected. However, there is a lot to be said when you've got a maindoor flat with your own front door and direct access to the back garden.
I knew I'd end up doing this - starting a blog and not get round to updating it!!
Hey ho.........
Been rather busy since I last posted. We returned from Canada mid June and decided to bite the bullet and move to a larger flat/nicer area. We moved on 28th September and to say our new gaff needs some work done is an understatement but I'm sure we'll get there eventually....sigh.......
More to come sometime soon :)

Well as the title suggests, we have returned. More precisley, we arrived back at home on Sundy at lunchtime. This followed an overnight flight in which Ruby slept for 4 hours although promptly woke up upon disembarking the plane at 9am :( We now have one very jet lagged/sleep deprived two year old which is not a barrel of laughs in the slightest.
Trying (without much gusto) to get back in the swing of things and failing dismally. Am about to get Ruby into nursery seeing as Andy couldn't be bothered before he went to work despite saying he would. Why can some men only focus on their own needs, i.e. 'I've got an important meeting'.......................... erm, so??
So not a great start to the day............................... It can only get better.

Another day in Nova Scotia took us to Schubenacadie Wildlife Park. I'm not a fan of this sort of environment but our daughter seemed to enjoy it apart from being startled by a rather over friendly peacock.
Tomorrow we are off to Pictou for a week before returning home on 19th June 2007. Can't believe we've been here for a week already!
I've been pondering for quite some time as to what to write in my first blog entry. I have since figured that it would be best to start with the here and now. I am currently on holiday with my husband Andy and our daughter Ruby. We are in Canada, more specifically Nova Scotia. Friends of ours, Holly and Bruce, moved back to Halifax earlier this year and kindly suggested that we might like to visit them. Needless to say we booked flights in a flash and here we are!
Ruby seems to be having a great time. Lots of space to run around and hospitable guests which Ruby appears to adore greatly. I dread to think what she will be like when we have to go home but we'll worry about that when it comes.
We went to Peggy's Cove on Sunday which was literally quite breath taking. www.peggy's-cove.com
Gift shop had virtually every type of tat you can imagine and more! Restaurant was very friendly and food was nice albeit a little greasy but as we both live in Scotland it was actually quite palatable!
Here are some pics from our trip to Peggy's Cove.
OOOOPPS! I've uploaded these pics and have realised that some of them are horizontal but can't yet figure out how to delete them or correct them. That said, I'm sure you will be able to see how beautiful it is!
Back to the vox drawing board/instructions!!
Till next time folks...........
Bye
